Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a toy breed of Spaniel type dogs. Essentially it is a small spaniel with a substantially silky coat of medium-length and long ears. Cavalier is considered as the largest dog from the entire toy breeds of dogs. However, it is quite small as compared to other spaniels. With their extremely affectionate nature, Cavaliers are often called as ‘the ultimate lap dogs’.

Overall body of Cavaliers is small but well-balanced. Size of Cavalier is 8-10 pounds in weight and 12-13 inches in height. Unlike other spaniels, Cavalier has a full length tail, which is well-feathered with long hair. The tail is typically carried aloft when the Cavalier walks. Their head is nearly flat between the ears and has a well-defined nose. Its large and round ears gives him a characteristic and an endearing look. Their neck is long and slightly arched. Their long and large ears are drooping and with heavy feathers. Their coat is long and substantially silky and with slight waves. Their beautiful coat needs proper grooming in order to keep it in best conditions. Coat comes in four colors Blenheim, tri-color, black and tan and ruby.

English Springer Spaniel is a breed of gun dogs that belongs to one of the several varieties of spaniels. They have been traditionally bred for flushing and retrieving games. Field or working springer and show springer display wide different in the appearance and characteristic, which is probably the greatest divergence unseen in any other breeds of dogs. Often, both the varieties of springer seem to belong to different breeds.

English Springer Spaniel is a hearty, medium-sized dog with docked tail in American varieties and undocked tail in European varieties. Field springers have shorter and coarser coats than show springers. And they have less pendulous ears. Field dogs are wiry with a feral look. Field-bred springers are developed for their hunting abilities, typical nose and not for their appearance. Show-bred springers have longer fur and more pendulous ears. They are thickly boned and heavier than field springers. Coat comes in black or dark brown color with with white or white with black markings. They also come in tr-colored patterns.

American Water Spaniel is an energetic and intelligent gundog breed of dogs, which is relatively unknown outside North America. It is basically used for hunting and retrieving the prey. American Water Spaniel is an excellent swimmer that can swim even in rough waters and cold waters. For American Water Spaniels, it is more important that they should have well-balanced and proportionate features and appearance than the actual size. It is a very intelligent, friendly and competent retriever dog.

American Water Spaniels have a dense and curly coat that is strong enough and suitable for extreme weather and cold water. Coat comes in liver, brown or chocolate colors. Its head is round and broad and muzzle is square shaped. Its tail is rocker shaped and compact in size. They have a broad and spaniel like head without topknot. Its eyes are yellowish brown to brownish, hazel or dark colored with color being harmonious with the coat color. It weighs around 35-45 pounds and its height is about 15-18 inches. Average life span is around 12-15 years. Apart from hunting, they also make a fine companion dog and due to smaller size, they are also suitable as apartment dogs.
