Cocker Spaniel or American Cocker Spaniel, is a medium-sized breed of dog similar to English Cocker Spaniel. It was originally bred as gun dog in the United States; however, nowadays it is almost always used as a companion dog. In Canada and elsewhere, it is referred to as American Cocker Spaniel while in USA, it is called as Cocker Spaniel. The word cocker seems to have stemmed from the fact that it was used to hunt woodcock in England. Cocker spaniel breed was developed originally in UK and later on American cocker spaniel was recognized as a separate breed.

Cocker spaniel has a distinctly rounded head with a perfectly rounded dome of the skull. Long, low-set and drooping ears are covered by a long silky fur. Their eyes are dark, large and rounded. They have a medium long silky fur on the body and ears, which hangs down on the legs and belly. Coat is silky and flat, being short on the head and medium long on the body. Coat comes in various colors including solid black with tan points, tri-colored and other combinations. Ideal size of cocker spaniels is 15-30 pounds in weight and 14-16 inches in height.

Chow Chow is a breed of dog that was first developed in Mongolia about 4000 years ago and later on introduced into China. In Chinese language, it literally means ‘Puffy Lion Dog‘. Chow Chow are most common companion dogs in China. Size of Chow Chow is 45-70 pounds in weight and 18-22 inches in height. Average lifespan of Chow Chow is 12-15 years. Their temperaments are highly inconsistent and tend to change frequently from one extreme to another.

Chow Chow is a sturdy and well-built dog with a square profile and a broad skull. Their ears are small, triangular, erect and rounded at the tips. They have a dens double coat, which may be smooth or rough, fur being very thick around the neck and thus giving distinctive ruff or mane appearance. Coat comes in five colors including red, black, blue, cinnamon and cream. Eyes are deep-set and almond shaped. Chow Chow is characterized by its unique blue/black/purple tongue and a very straight hind legs. Their bluish color extends to their lips, which is also a unique feature amongst all the breeds of dogs.

Brittany, a breed of gun dog from France, was developed in the Brittany Province in the eighteenth century mainly for hunting birds. Although the working characteristics of Brittany are similar to those of pointer or setter but it is often referred to as Spaniel. With a well-built, athletic and compact boy and long legs, Brittany always displays expressions of alertness, intelligence and vigor. Eyes are deep-set with heavy eyebrows.

With muscular thighs, well-sprung ribs and strong chest, Brittany have a strong physical stamina, which makes it possible for them to work in the fields for the whole day without getting tired. They are best suitable for searching birds and other games through heavy bushes and trees. The coat is single, slightly wavy and dense coat and comes in a variety of colors including liver and white, orange and liver. Orange and white is the most common color in American Brittanies. Well-developed and healthy males weigh around 40 pounds and stand at about 18-20 inches. Average lifespan of Brittanies is about 10-12 years.

Border terrier is a small, rough-coated dog from terrier family that has originated in Scotland/England. It was developed originally for hunting fox and vermin. Due to its intelligence and charming characteristics from head to tail, it has become one of the most adored breeds of canine world. Border terrier has a coarse and wiry double coat. Its undercoat is short, dense, soft, and harsh overcoat is wiry, close lying, and weather resistant with no curls or waves. Coat comes in grizzle and tan, blue and tan, and red colors. It has a broad skull and short and strong muzzle. Border terriers can be easily identified by their otter-shaped heads. Bernese Mountain is one of the oldest and most beautiful breed of working dogs. Bernese is a versatile farm dog from Berne in Switzerland. It is also known as Berner. In its short lifespan, Berner provides its masters with a sense of beauty and loyalty unparalleled by any other dog breeds.

It is a tri-colored dog with body, neck, legs, head and legs solid black, cheek, stockings and thumbprints brown and toes, chest, muzzle and tail tips white.
