Cane corso is an Italian breed of dog that has long been regarded as a guard dog and a good companion. It is well renowned for its size and athletic nature. The appearance of this Mastiff veers away from other mastiffs and closely resembles that of a native English Bulldog. The males are comparatively larger than female s and can weigh anywhere between 40- 72 kgs. They have a well built muscular body and are characterized by a big head size and web developed jaws. Therefore Cane Corso dogs are known to have a very strong bite. They are also calm and affectionate towards humans. However they tend to be more hostile towards other dogs especially the ones of their size and sex. Cane Corso refers to catch dogs in the local language and used for hunting since earlier times. They were recovered from near extinction by enthusiasts in 1970.

Staffordshire dogs also commonly known as the Staffordshire bull terrier or Staffordshire terrier or staffy dogs are a breed of medium sized short haired dogs. Originally bred for bull fighting the dogs have evolved as a dog with high intelligence, courage and tenacity. They are mostly similar to the American Staffodshire terrier and the infamous American Pit Bull Terrier. They are characterized by their broad muscular body, relatively short foreface and pronounced cheek and occipital muscles. Usually weighing around 11 to 15 kilograms and standing up to 14 to 16 inches these dogs are very athletic and display a strong affection towards humans. Although they are not as quiet and reserved as other dogs they serve as a trustworthy all purpose dogs. Staffordshire terriers are also very adaptable when it comes to changing homes and owners making them more susceptible to dog nappers.  Their loving and sweet temper however makes them unsuitable to be trained as guard and attack dogs.

The West Highland White Terrier or commonly referred to as Westies are amongst the breed of small sturdy dogs originated from Scotland. They are characterized by a head which is in proportion to the body and when viewed from the front give off a round appearance. Normally around 10 to 12 inches tall and 6-7 kilograms in weight they are ideal human companions. They have a double coated fur which is usually white in color. The outer coat is thick which can grow up to 2 inches in length while the inner coat is soft and dense. Westies are fairy calm and love to be around humans. They are fairly easy to train and get along well with children and strangers. The Westland terriers also serve as good watch dogs and are robust, friendly and spirited. They love to dig and bark. They pose no behavioral problems if the owner can exercise firm, confident and consistent leadership. Mostly of indoor nature they are a popular choice among city dwellers. They are good for travelling with because they have a calm and playful nature.
