Estrela Mountain Dog is a breed of dogs that has been bred for guarding herds and homesteads in Estrela Mountains in Portugal for many centuries. They come in two varieties of coats short and long coat, which must have a coat resembling the texture of goat hair. Estrela mountain dogs weigh 90-110 pounds and stand tall at 25-28 inches. They are highly protective of the family and their property, friendly with children, stubborn and suspicious of strangers.

Long coat varieties of Estrela mountain dogs have a thick and slightly coarser outer coat lying close to the body. Coat may be flat or wavy but never curly. Undercoat is dense and slightly lighter in color than the outer coat. Short-coated breeds have a short, thick and slightly coarse outer coat with a shorter and dense under coat and proportionate feathering. Coat comes in fawn, wolf grey and yellow, with or without brindles and with black shading all over the coat. Coton De Tulear is a small breed of dogs from the city of Tulear in Madagascar, which is well known for its cottony textured coat. It has a very distinctive soft hair, a prominent black nose and large expressive eyes. They have very short and puffy legs. Coat is medium-long to long, fluffy and cotton-like, more of a hair than fur. Generally, the coat is pure white but some of the breeds have lemon colored coat on their ears and body.

Beauceron is a herding breed of dogs from the plains regions known as La Beauce, located surrounding Paris, France. It is also known by French Shorthaired Shepherd or Beauce Shepherd. With a fairly large and threatening appearance, Beauceron bears a slight resemblance to German shepherd dogs. Its coat is short, close and smooth except on legs, and tail, where slight fringe can be observed. Coat comes in black, tan or grey color. They are muscular and imposing dogs. Hind legs are highly distinctive with double dewclaws on each foot leaving them with six toes. Rather than being a defect, double dewclaw remains as the hallmark of Beauceron dogs. Height of Beauceron is around 60-70 cm, weight is about 30-40 kg and lifespan is around 10-12 years.
