Westie is the nick name for West Highland White Terrier, a Scottish breeds of dogs that is well known for its distinctive white coat. Westie is also fondly known by many other names such as White Roseneath Terrier, Roseneath Terrier and Poltalloch Terrier.
Westie or Westy is a small breed of dogs with legs longer than the other Scottish breeds. They have a white double fur coat that fills out the face completely and thereby gives the face a rounded appearance. They are quite active and social dogs with strong affinity to children but they cannot tolerate rough handling.

Westie has a deep-set, bright and almond shaped eyes, small, pointed and erect ears, black nose, muscular limbs, short, closely fitted jaws. The double coat comes with a soft and thick undercoat and a rough outer coat. Average weight of Westie is 15-20 pounds and height is around 10 inches and the lifespan is 12-16 years. When it comes to temperament, Westie is a stubborn dog and hence it often leads to problems in training but at the same time they are independent. Assured and self-confident and hence they make a good guard dogs besides being a good family companions especially for the kids.

When we talk of Shar Pei, it goes without saying that we are referring to Chinese Shar Pei or Chinese fighting dogs. Shar Pei is well known for its peculiar features such as blue-black tongue and deep wrinkles. Although there are many wrinkles in the Shar Pei puppies but as they grow, most all wrinkles disappear and grow into their skin. Known as world’s rarest breeds of dogs, the name of the dog Shar Pei comes from the Chinese word that translates into English as “Sand Skin” that refers to its short and rough coat texture.

Shar Pei have small and triangular ears with a muzzle that is shaped like that of Hippopotamus and a high-set tail, which also gives them a unique look. The coat is rough to touch and comes in three different types, namely, horse, brush and bear coat. The coat comes in many colors including red, fawn, sand, cream, black, lilac and blue. Shar Pei resemble Chow Chow or Puffy-Lion Dog due to the similar blue-black tongue. The average weight of Shar Pei is 18-30 kg and height is 18-22 inches. The average lifespan varies between 7-16 years. Shar Pei makes an excellent guard dog because of their suspicious nature to strangers but at the same time they have proved as good loving and family devoted breed of dogs.

Staffy is the name for Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who is also known by many other names such as Staffy Bull, Staff, SBT and Stafford. Related to bull terries, Staffy is the fifth most popular breeds of English dogs. Given its ancestors from dog fighting breeds of dogs, Staffy is well known as a muscular and courageous dog but the modern breed is often preferred for its people-centric qualities. The body is medium-sized, stocky, and strong with athletic abilities. They have a smooth coat that comes in different colors such as red, black, fawn, white and blue.

Staffy also comes in many different combinations of colors with white and different shades of brindle with or without white markings. They are highly obedient, affectionate, playful and also have a good sense of humor. Despite their stocky and intimidating appearance, Staffy is often not suitable as guard dogs mainly because of people-friendly temperaments. The average weight of Staffy is 14-18 kg and average height is 38-42 cm. The average lifespan of Staffy is 10-16 years.

Cane Corso is a medium sized and strong built Italian breed of dogs that is one of the most treasured breeds in Italy as a companion, guide and hunter. Cane Corso is a large Italian Molosser with excellent athletic looks and abilities, often more than most other mastiff breeds of dogs. Apart from its powerful, and strong muscles and agility, Cane Corso also looks quite elegant. The muzzle is broad and deep and it should be as wide as long. They have a compact, strong and muscular body and they look nearer to Old English bulldog.

Coat of Cane Corso comes in two basic colors, black and fawn and a shiny and stiff texture. Due to genetic pigment dilution, and other reasons, brindling of varying intensity is common in both the coat colors, often creating black and blue brindle. Fawn colors also comes with variations such as pale fawn and common beige. On many breeds, white markings can be seen on chest, toes, chin and nose. Average height in male Cane Corso is 24-27 inches and 23-25 inches in females. Average weight in males is around 100-110 pounds and 90-100 pounds in females.
